News of the day! The house is finished. Diogenes and Onalis and family will move in tonight! Windows and doors were installed today! They are so very happy and excited! They said to say " Thank you Crosspointe Church for giving this gift of love!"
Went to La Vigia today to deliver food for Marjorie and her family thanks to some generous giving....Marjorie was not home! Do you know where she was?..... In the Church fasting and praying since last night! Blessings!
Today we painted the inside and outside of the house of Diogenes and Onalis - sponsored by Crosspointe Church, N.C. The house is looking good. Thankful to Jonathan & Elona and the many local volunteers that helped to paint this house. Monday - God willing - the doors and windows get installed and shortly after they will move in!
Some things are heart breaking and eye opening. Today I was in La Vigia, painting another house. A woman ~ Marjorie and her Son Moises and her daughter Yileni were helping us paint the house ( not theirs ). They gave us 3 Avocados and a bag full of cherries. I had not eaten and when Marjorie found this out she immediately shared her food with me ~ Rice with Salami and Avocado and then she made us all Juice. Later when I went to the house to use the bathroom I decided to look and see what she had in the fridge. The picture should explain the rest! One last thing ~ when I asked Marjorie how come there is nothing in the fridge she said " My Husband cannot find work and we have no money". Would any of us share our food if this was all we had? Hmmm something to think about!
Let me tell you something! For ten years of full-time ministry here in the Dominican Republic God has been meeting our needs....abundantly! Today I was looking in the stock room for gloves for the nurse...size large and we were out. 10 minutes later Dave Melnick arrives to the clinic with 5 large boxes of Medical supplies for us! In those boxes were 25 boxes of gloves...size LARGE! We serve an awesome God!
Update: The Paradise Medical Clinic continues to be busy! We saw and helped over 200 people this past week. The good news is that help arrived Wednesday. Jonathon and Elona are here and helping me for the next three weeks. Today we went to La Vigia to continue on our most recent house project. We started painting the house of Diogenes and Onalis sponsored by Crosspointe Church. It is good to get this done as we were delayed by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Today we were able to get the white base coat on the entire house with all the volunteers we had. We also spread rock around the house and it is looking good. Wednesday we hope to paint the finish coat and also the windows and doors have been ordered and should be installed this week! Blessings!
